Rotation 1- LTC- NYCHH Gouverneur

Rotation 1: LTC Evaluation Presentation Summary
Rotation 2- Surgery- New York Presbyterian Queens
Participate in daily morning and evening rounds. Assist in surgical service dressing changes, insertion and removal of drains, nasogastric rubes and foley catheters along with drawing venous and arterial punctures. Follow patients from admission to discharge and present on daily rounds as part of a team. Follow diagnostic tests and participate in therapeutic imaging procedures. Practice suturing, scrubbing in, and creating clinical documentation. Attend resident morbidity and mortality case presentations. Assist night float resident/PA. Respond to trauma activation. Participate in an on-call schedule.
Rotation 3- Internal Medicine- Queens Hospital Center
Participate in daily morning and evening rounds with an interdisciplinary team. Assist in consultations, drawing arterial and venous lab samples, and aiding the healthcare team with procedures such as PICC line insertion. Follow patients from admission to discharge and present new admissions as part of a team. Interpret and follow diagnostic tests and participate in therapeutic imaging procedures. Practice creating clinical documentation, ordering, and referring patients to both inpatient and outpatient specialties. Attend resident morbidity and mortality case presentations, medical student presentations, and weekly clinical topic presentations.
Rotation 4 – Family Medicine – Amazing Medical Services
Follow patient labs from initial visit, create and implement Patient Plan of Care. Interpret and follow diagnostic tests and labs while participating in therapeutic imaging procedures. Refer patients as needed to outside services. Communicate with clinical staff. Work with E-Clinical Works for EHR. Draw patient labs and perform ECGs.
Rotation 5 – OB/Gyn – Woodhull
Perform routine prenatal and gynecological exams. Follow patients from initial visit. Interpret and follow diagnostic testing. Participate in on-call consultation for both OB and Gynecology services as well as working daily in the Women’s Clinic. Work with attending to create and implement plan of care.
Rotation 6 – AM – Queensline Medical Center (Dr.DiFranco)
Administer injections, immunizations, wound care, and managing infection. Implement patient care plans, record progress notes, educate patients, and in providing continuity of care. Prescribe medications or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures
Rotation 7- ED- Brookdale Hospital Medical Center
Obtain medical history and perform and/or assist in initial physical exams. Obtain lab tests and routine diagnostic procedures. Assess patient’s condition and suggest a differential diagnosis, based on patient’s chart, results of tests, physical exam and other established medical policies and procedures. Suggest appropriate treatment of patient and assists in the management of the patient. Keep required medical records by recording notes on tests, findings and treatment ordered in patient’s charts and evaluates patients charts.Perform minor surgical procedures including routing suturing of lacerations, skin biopsies, incision and drainage of superficial abscess, removal of minor skin liaisons, applying and removing casts and traction apparatus.Counsel patients and their families with reference to preventative care, medical problems and the use of prescribed treatment and drugs. Assist in the management of medical and surgical emergencies; cardiopulmonary resuscitation, life threatening traumatic injuries, etc
