I rotated at at Brookdale for Emergency Medicine. I felt as thought I learned a lot here and this site helped me feel more confident in my future role in healthcare. I have gotten feedback to be more confident, so I will look for ways to increase confidence in myself. It was good to work with a multi-disciplinary team and to see what role physician assistant would play in an emergency setting; either in fast track, trauma, or in the teams for incoming triage patients. One thing I enjoyed about this site was that I was able to see so …

Brookdale site evaluation
I think that my case and article were presented well and were interesting. My article was pertinent to my case and was a complex case as well. I needed more work on my pharm cards, but this is something I can strive for on my next site visit.

CAT FINAL : RT7-WK2: Advanced Paternal Age and Pregnancy Outcomes
Brief description of patient problem/setting (summarize the case very briefly): Advanced maternal age and its potential complications in pregnancy is well-studied. In fact, clinical guidelines list any female over 35 years old to be considered a high-risk pregnancy. However, advanced paternal age and its potential links to pregnancy complications remains grossly unexplored. Global trends show that individuals are waiting longer to have children, so it is important to understand potential complications of advanced age of either parent—be it male or female—not only to prevent poor perinatal outcomes but also to guide clinical guidelines and education in family planning. Search Question: …

Site Reflection
I rotated at Dr. DiFranco’s office at Queensline Medical Center for Ambulatory Care. I felt as thought I learned a lot here and this site helped me feel more confident in my future role in healthcare. It was good to work with a multi-disciplinary team and to see what role physician assistant would play in an outpatient setting. One thing I enjoyed about this site was that I was able to perfect placing EKG leads which better helped me to understand the pathophysiology of the EKG and its relationship to cardiac anatomy. In the future, I would like to perfect …
OB/GYN Reflection
I rotated at Woodhull for OB/Gyn. I felt as thought I learned a lot here and this site helped me feel more confident in my future role in healthcare. It was good to work with a multi-disciplinary team and to see what role physician assistant would play in a hospital setting. One thing I enjoyed about this site was that I was able to rotate between so many departments while on this rotation. In the future, I would like to see more screening procedures like ultrasounds. My biggest issue was the variable schedule and the long shifts of at least …
FM- AMZ Reflection
I rotated at AMZ. I felt as thought I learned a lot here and this site helped me feel more confident in my future role as a provider. It was good to work with a multi-disciplinary team of doctors, NPs, and MAs to provide patient care. One thing I enjoyed about this site was the hands-on approach; Dr. Dairo is very involved in patient care–sometimes even doing her blood draws if necessary. Before this rotation, I was not as confident applying our didactic knowledge to the “real-world”. In the future, I would like this site to have better organizational skills …
